It would be nearly impossible to put forth a concrete, across the board price list for web site construction. There are hundreds of different scenarios, ideas, and possibilities, not to mention the use of graphics, pictures, and the site interface.

Web Site Design & Construction

Harris Web Design does not believe, however, that a basic web site should break the bank. The cost to build your web site will depend on how much you want us to do. For instance, if you type the information you want on each page and email it to us, your cost will decrease. If you have lots of graphics and photos, or need custom banners created, your cost will increase. The more information and input that you can provide will reduce our time and therefore reduce your cost.

We can also build auction sites. If you have ever visited eBay or Yahoo! Auctions then you will be familiar with this term. Auctions sites are extensive in content and require an administrator to oversee the process to close out items, archive the lots, and recycle the auctions, all on a daily or weekly basis.

A basic informational web site will cost $49 to $99 per page. A site that utilizes lots of forms, cgi scripts, java, and other elements will usually cost $99 to $299 per page. Auctions sites are a labor intensive venture and start at $6,000 and increase from there. Our premier auction client is PlasticEquipAuction.com.

Web Site Hosting

Harris Web Design also provides affordable and reliable hosting. “Hosting” a site means that we put your HTML built web pages on our server so that they become available to the rest of the internet community. The cost to host your site depends on the size of the site itself:

$24.95/month (sites 25 megabytes in size or smaller with 10 email accounts)
$34.95/month (sites up to 40 megabytes in size with unlimited email accounts)
$49.95/month (sites up to 100 megabytes in size with unlimited email accounts)

And if you want someone else to host your site, that's fine as well. We will contact whomever you choose and upload the site from our computers. We can handle all your site and graphic design needs even if you choose not to host with us.

Web Site Administration

Overseeing a site is the job of an administrator (also called a “web master”). Some customers put up a web site and only make changes once or twice a year. Other sites need to be updated on a daily basis. An administrator is the one to make those changes, fix any broken links, and correct any other problems.

Harris Web Design can administrate your site for a monthly fee (unlimited updates) or on a per update basis. Or, we can send you the entire site on disk (or via the internet) and you can make changes on your own. You will need to have a working knowledge of HTML (or HTML software) and a connection to the internet.

If updates, changes, or corrections are needed from an oversight or mistake on our part, quite obviously there is no charge. And we will update your site for the first week at no charge. After the first week, if your updates are not extensive, a per occurence fee to update a web site will be used. The size of your site and the number of updates you will require will determine the monthly administrator fee.
